Campbell's bravado seems to be disappearing as the panic of electoral annihilation has started to seep into the government, following the stafford wipeout and a record breaking swing of 18.6%.
We did get an apology, but as one commentator said... it was sadly inadequate.
This has resulted in some major policy reversals - specifically the softening of his stance on the Bikie laws (once his pride and joy), the restoration of a bipartisan process for the appointment of the chair of the CCC, and the restoration of the previous budget estimates process (well after Labor announced its position).

As 'Can Do' is demonstrating, there isn't much a desperate and dangerous government won't say or do to protect their political hides. The arrogance we have been subjected from the moment their large election win was announced seems now to have entirely dissipated.
We're told they have changed. They are now listening. But they're not thinking. The one policy they won't budge on is asset sales. A decision of monumental stupidity... and Campbell's the man for stupidity of that magnitude, ably backed by the likes of Tim Nicholls, Jeff 'No one's seen him' Seeney, and the worst A-G in Qld history.. 'Trainer Wheels' Bleijie.
As we highlighted here at the blog in May 2013, courtesy of an article in Dissent magazine from around the same time - asset sales have been electoral poison for every government who has ever tried them. Asset sales have also subjected those governments who followed through with them to long periods in opposition.
In 2012 Labor seemed destined to spend a long time in opposition... until 'Cock Up' Campbell arrived with the biggest game changer - even more asset sales than the Bligh government.
Newman has been very good for Labor. He has driven membership numbers ever higher. He has made Labor re-electable in record time. And if he is allowed to stay in a position of leadership long enough he will decimate his own party.

And with the unrelenting downward trajectory of the LNP in Queensland, Conservatives who have long since given up on 'Shambles' Newman were hoping PUP would rise up and help them secure conservative government beyond 2015. But even PUP seems to be tying itself in knots as the pressure of being in the public spotlight is starting to show.
From Palmer's walkout on ABC TV, Senator Lazarus being heckled from the public gallery, to the mayhem caused by PUP in the Federal Senate (they clearly don't understand how the upper house works), and the latest embarrassment, Senator Lambie and her attempts at on air dating.
As if Tony Dumb Dumb wasn't making us a big enough international joke, Lambie is now doing her bit.
The more people see of PUP, the more likely we will be to see a sharp U-Turn in their level of public support. PUP began life on the fringe, and are quickly marginalising themselves even further.
The truth is that anything can happen between now and March 2015. The election will be a close contest... interesting times.
